Summary
The Display Innovation CHINA 2018/ Beijing Summit (referred to as DIC2018) co-organized by CODA and Nikkei BP will be held in Crowne Plaza Beijing Lidu on October 23rd-24th, 2018.
Since RCA Company developed the first LCD in the world in 1968, the curtain of the development of LCD has been opened. Up to now, LCD has undergone 50 years’ evolution and transformation, and at present, the new display technology has formed the situation that various technologies develop at the same time, in which TFT-LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) technology is the mainstream, OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode Display) technology is the main iterative upgrade technology, and other display technologies such as laser and electronic paper are supplementary. The coming of the 4th industrial revolution has provided more application scenarios for the new display industry. The progress of various technologies such as IoT, big data and artificial intelligence has promoted the continuous iterative upgrade of display technology. Besides, display applications have also further expanded from the traditional applications such as TV sets, mobile phones and monitors to brand-new application scenarios such as smart education, office, intelligent plants, homes, unmanned vehicles and telemedicine in the 5G and IoT era.
2018 may be the “year of drastic changes” for the global display industry, and will also be the “year of opportunities”. Therefore, with the purport of “Cooperation, Innovation and Development” and the theme of “Integrating and Innovating for a Better Future”, this Summit will provide a platform for the global display industry to display enterprise development strategies, new technologies and products, and provide a high-level and high-standard exchange platform for upstream and downstream material and equipment enterprises at home and abroad to fully understand the development of China’s new display industry, and for the integration of global new display technology and application.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of LCD application, this Summit specially invites Dr. Martin Short, the founder of LCD application, to be present to share his profound and long-term unique views on the start of LCD application to the current LCD and LCD development in the future. In addition, this Summit also specially invites the global leading panel enterprises such as Samsung Display, LGD, BOE and Tianma, key material and equipment companies such as Merck, Corning, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron and Coherent, and globally renowned end users such as Continental AG to jointly explore the innovation from new display technologies such as TFT-LCD, OLED, Micro LED, MINI-OLED and quantum dots to terminal applications such as electronic paper, artificial intelligence and vehicle-mounted display, and to jointly talk about the future of the display industry.
